Abstract
BACKGROUND: Reproductive health educations interventions are widely seen the most appropriate strategy for promoting young people reproductive health. AIM Of STUDY was to assess effect of educational program on adolescent girls regarding reproductive health issues on knowledge and attitude of adolescent female. SETTINGS AND DESIGN: This intervention study was carried out at 6 secondary industrial and commercial schools at (Benha, Toukh, Kafr Shoukr, and Kalioub). A total 580 adolescent girls were randomly selected .MATERIALS AND METHODS: Adolescent girls were educated regarding reproductive health and their knowledge and attitude regarding reproductive health were evaluated immediately following intervention and three month after. RESULTS significant increase in overall knowledge immediately post program and three months after regarding different reproductive health issues as , anatomy, puberty, menstruation and female genital mutilation p(>0.001) .also a significant change of adolescent females attitude toward highly positive regarding reproductive issues was observed. CONCLUSION: This study showed that educational intervention program can bring about a desirable change in knowledge and attitude among adolescent female regarding reproductive health issues especially regarding anatomy of reproductive system, menstruation, puberty, FGM and premarital counseling .
