الملخص
Ride comfort is related to vehicle acceleration excited by road irregularities and engine vibration in vertical, pitch and rolls axes. In order to protect vehicle components and cargo from damage, to ensure minimum discomfort and to enable the driver to retain suitable control of the vehicle, acceptable ride behaviour is required. Current practices and recent developments have identified that ride comfort is affected by certain parameters, namely; road input, suspension design, seat suspension, engine mount, tyre characteristics and cab suspension. The aim of this paper is to assess the importance of each parameter, to discuss recent advances in the field of ride comfort and also identify directions for further research.
