Abstract
The use of microwave filters can be found in many applications in microwave circuits and telecommunication systems such as radar, satellite, mobile communications systems. Such systems often require circuits to be as small as possible and implemented in low profile topologies such as microstrip lines, slot lines, and coplanar waveguides. Microstrip is one of the dominant technologies, which can provide size reduction for microwave circuits.reduction in the overall size of the stepped impedance low pass filter is proposed in this article. The high impedance line sections are converted to T-sections and the low impedance line sections are converted to -sections. Analysis and design equations for such conversions are presented. This method accomplishes a prominent size reduction in sharp response filters with multi-stepped impedance sections.
