Abstract

Recently geotextile is considered a simple and an economic treatment to reinforce such weak soils. Modern geotextile frequently offer solutions, which are sound engineering practice and very economic when compared to older methods of construction, which employ considerable quantities of mineral aggregates. The objectives of this study objective, series of C.B.R and under different conditions of compaction efforts, and surcharge loads. Analyzing the study results, it is found that reinforcing clayey soil, with any of the investigated geotextile types, highly improves its bearing resistance especially with soil, which has a low C.B.R in the soaked case. Therefore, geotextiles having lower stiffness, lower costs, can be safely used. The improvement in C.B.R values, due to reinforcement, is much higher when lower compaction efforts are applied. Also it is found that when the shear strength for the soil increased due to geotextile reinforcement, which is more with woven (Terram W/4-4).
