Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of in-situ bearing tests. These tests were carried out to study the effect of load inclination angle on ultimate bearing capacity of shallow footings subjected to inclined loads. Three sites represent cohesionless, cohesive and c- soils were chosen. the loading tests were performed at load inclination angles 0, 10, 20, 30, and 45 degrees from vertical plane. The results analysis showed that the load inclination angle has significant effects on ultimate bearing capacity, failure type and footing displacements. Bearing capacity equation of square footing subjected to vertical loads was improved and general inclination factor of bearing capacity equation are presented.
