Architecture is one of the most important cultural elements which signify a nation's identity. Acting as a mirror, architecture reflects the authentic community characterizing its, economic, social, and cultural aspects. The Egyptian society has witnessed many effective events during the second half of the 20th century. Being associated with many alterations and changes whether political, economic, cultural, or social that emerged within the Egyptian society, such events had many fundamental influences upon all patterns of life including architecture.

Accordingly, this research aims to recognize the architectural trends and approaches of the public buildings in Egypt during the second half of the 20th Century, and the possibility of classifying them through the architectural features for its facades. Moreover the study is to look for the referential corps of the architectural products whether it was western or local products, in addition to studying to what extent those architectural products are influenced by the changes and alterations occurring within the Egyptian society during that period.
