ABSTRACT
Twelve nursery triads were conducted during 1990 and 1991 seasons where 2-year-old Money maker pecan transplants were subjected to one o£ the following cultural practices (a) control "tap water" (b) root shortening, (c) stem pinching and ( d ) root shortening + stem pinching. Besides, shoots and roots ol th& transplants were treated either with 2000 ppm burazal (PP323) or ICO ppm Triiodobenzoic acid (TIBA) solutions, The effect of interaction between cultural practices and growth regulator treatments on transplant; growth was also studied.
Gentral1y, root shortening + stem pinching + 2000 ppm PP333 or 100 ppm TIBA treatments were the most effective treatments in enhancing root and shoot branching and improving growth parameters of Money maker transplants as wel1 as increasing leaf calcium and magnesium content.
