Moshtohor, Zagazig Univ., Egypt. ** Fac. of Environ. Agric. Sci., El-Arish, Suez Canal Univ., Egypt ABSTRACT Five weed control treatments i.e. (I) unweeded "control", (2j hat id hoeing, (3) nee straw mulching (1) Glyphosate and (5) Dmron were evaluated in Balady mandarin nursery during 1993 and 1994 seasons. Conclusively, all tested treatments (particularly rice straw mulching) showed high efficiency in controlling weeds, enhancing transplant growth and improving leaf contents of phosphorus potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc.
