Egypt. J. AppL. Sci, 8 (2) 1993 667 - 683 EFFECT OF SOmE WEED CONTROL TREATMENTS ON WASHINGTON NAVEL ORANGE TREES 1- WEED CONTROL, TREE GROWTH AND " LEAF NUTRIENT CONTENT By Helail, B.M. and A tawia, A.A.R. Dept. of Hor. Fac. of Agric. Moshtohor, Zagazig Univ. ABSTRACT A two-year-trial was conducted during 1990 and 2992 in Washington Navel orange orchard, where six weed control treatnents were investi¬gated as follows : a) without cultivation "ecrtrol", b) clean cultivation> c) Glyphosate, d) Atropine, e) Krovcr.JJ and f) clean cultiva~ tion + Atrazine. All herbicides treatments (Purzicularly, Gluphosate J showed high efficie¬ncy in weed control and improved both tree growth and leaf nitrogen, potassium, magnesium , iron and sine contents.
