A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON SOME CITRUS SEEDLING ROOTSTOCKS BY Atawia, A.A.R. Dept. of Hort Fac. of Agric. Moshtohor, Zagazig Univ. ABSTRACT Five seedling citrus rootstocks i.e Balady sour orange, Citrus volkameriana Rangpur lime, Rough lemon and Trifoli¬ate orange were compared through tree growth, fruiting, seed yield and germination. Significant differences were noticed between the different rootstocks in tree growth, leaf nutrients content and seed yield. However, citrus volkame¬riana proved to be a vigorous rootstock and had high leaf nutrients content (N, P, K, Ca and Mg). Besides, remarkable differences were observed between the different rootstocks in seed yield, seed germination and seedling growth. Also, Citrus volkameriana rootstock was the greatest one in seed yield, seed germination and seedling"growth. Besides, seeds of citrus volkameriana were the richest ones in gibberel- lins, indoles and amino acids.
