Abstract

This work mainly emphasize on the ongoing research of the design of an unmanned aerial system for handling of post disaster scenario, effectively. Normally the civilian unmanned aerial vehicles suffers from the restriction of line of sight communication but here a high altitude aerial platform has been introduced which acts as a signal repeater. Thus, it virtually enhances the Fresnel's zone of the wireless transmitter. An initial test platform is developed to realize the data communication between the UAV and the ground station within a certain range of way-points as well as basic image mosaic generation is performed using time stamped image data.
