Abstract
Acid chloride of the stearic acid was reacted with anthranilic acid to produce 3,1-benzoxazinone (1). This benzoxazinone was utilized as starting material to synthesis quinazolinone (2), some quinazoline derivatives bearing hydroxyl, amino, acetoxy, urea, thiourea, barbituric acid at position 3- …etc (3-13) were prepared beside some condensed quinazoline like triazoloquinazoline and tetrazinoquinazoline were also prepared. These heterocycles bear active hydrogen atom (NH, OH or COOH) which could be ethoxylated using ethylene oxide with different moles, 3, 5 and 7 moles to produce nonionic surfactant having a long alkyl chain with molecular weight suitable for becoming an amphiphilic molecule with correct hydrophilic-lyophilic balance which enhancing the solubility, biodegradiability and hence lowering the toxicity to human beings and became environmently friends. Also the antimicrobial activity of these compounds were screened and it was found that some compounds have potancey similar or exceed the potancey of commercial antibiotic Durcief, which make them suitable for diverse application like manufacture of drugs, pesticides, emulsifiers, cosmetics, …….etc.
