In this paper, the one-dimensional dynamic thermal stresses in an infinite elastic slab is considered. The system of fundamental equations is solved by means of a finite difference method and evaluate numerically the stress for steel at a fixed time t and for different values of x. The results are presented in graphical form, which demonstrate a discontinuity in the stress.
