Abstract
Hepatic disease in cats is often treatable and has a predictable prognosis when a definitive diagnosis is made. 29 cats of both sexes with age rang (1—5years) and weight rang (1.5 –5kg.) .Cats were randomly divided into four groups.21cats used for normal ultrasound study, 5cats used for cholecystography study by using urographin*(R), 3 cats for CT examination and cross sectionsanatomy and 5cats subjected to experimental ligation of common bile duct. The liver of feline appear 6 lobes located into intrathoracic portion of the abdoominal cavity. The aim of hepatobiliarysonography to identify the normal structure of the biliary system ,evaluate of hepatobiliary affections, clarify the character of hepatic damage and dysfunction and determination possible primary causes of secondary hepatobiliary diseases. This study describes the different imaging techniques (ultrasound, X-ray and CT) employed in diagnosis of hepatobiliary affections in cats. Besides reviewing the significant clinical manifestations and imaging structural abnormalities in diagnostic approach to different hepatobiliary affections, it also depicts radiographic, ultrasonographic, and CT applicable in different hepatobiliary affections and target lesions especially common bile duct obstruction. The cat was anesthetized by, ketamine HCL (10 mg/kg, IM) and xylazine (1 mg/kg, IM).
