Abstract
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality in women worldwide. Breast self examination (BSE) still plays an important role in the breast health awareness program. This study aimed to evaluate effect of an educational program for BSE among Technical Institute of Nursing Students in Benha University. Design: A quasi experimental design was used in this study. Setting: This study was conducted at the Technical Institute of Nursing affiliated to Benha University Hospital. Sampling: All 1st year nursing students at Technical Institute were recruited in the study. Tools of data collection were 1) self administrated questionnaire that includes two parts to assess sociodemographic and knowledge about breast cancer and BSE 2) A modified Likert scale to assess attitude and 3) An observation checklist to assess practices for BSE.
