Abstract
Abstract Objectives: To compare the efficacy and safety of TVT and Burch colp,suspension in treatment offemale SUL Patients and Methods : 15 patients underwent Burch colposuspension and 20 patients underwent TVT. Exclsuion criteria includes patients with prolapse > degree, previous surgical treatment for SUI and presence of detrusal instability >15 cm H70. Results: Operative time for TVT was significantly less compared to Burch. Post operative pain is less in TVT than Burch: Return to normal activity is earlier in TVT group (7 days) but in Burch 14 days. The cure rate after 2 years follow up was 80% for Burch group and 80% in TVT group, while the improvement was 13.3% for Burch group and 15% for TVT group. Conclusion: Burch colposupension and TVT have comparable -results in treatment offemale SUI at 2 years follow up. TVT procedure requires much less operative time, much shorter hospital stay with less postoperative pain.
