Abstract
The RFID technology is a supplementary technology that can be applied to different applications. By analyzing past work that has a focus on chipless tag design, most of the work in the literature aims to improve the design methodologies to attain the best orientation independence and coding capacity by lowering tag size and adding more resonators (more bits) at the same size. This work introduces a novel Slit Gear C-Shaped slot ring resonator. The proposed design has many features such as its low-cost, planar, completely printable, dual-polarized, orientation independent, symmetric structure, single layer, and small Tag of chipless RFID. The suggested Prototype is made up of multiple overlapping gears-shaped circular patch slot resonators and has a radius of 7.4 mm. The slot corrugation using the gear-shaped slots miniaturized the overall size, keeping the tag’s polarization-independent features. To enhance the detection range, the designed tag is repeated in an array of different sizes to guarantee good signal detection. This tag’s single-layer properties make it a good choice for conductive ink printing within the range of 3 to 35 GHz. The tags are fabricated and measured in the lab where good results are obtained.
