Abstract
Thin films of thickness 200 nm from the ternary glassy Ge(10+x) Se40 Te(50-x) systems (x = 16.65, 13.35, and zero) have been prepared in amorphous state. The optical energy gap Eo and
band tail width Ee have been estimated using reflection (R) and transmission (T) measurements of films. Eo and Ee are dependent on the composition. Increasing of Te content leads to decreasing Eo and increasing Ee. The cohesive energies of investigated samples have been calculated. The obtained results have been discussed in the frame of chemical bond approach model
