الملخص
Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. Diethylnitrosamine(DENA) is a well known potent hepatocarcinogenic agent. DENA is known to induce damage inmany enzymes involved in DNA repair and is normally used to induce liver cancer in experimentalanimal models. Curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory agent with strong therapeutic potential againsta variety of cancers. Curcumin has been shown to suppress transformation, proliferation, andmetastasis of tumors. These effects are mediated through modulation of various inflammatory andangiogenic cytokines. It also inhibits proliferation of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis throughmodulation of oxidative stress.
