الملخص
Background: Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disorder characterized by changes in the humoral and cellular immunity. Cytokine production particularly of iterleukin by keratinocytes and immoncompetent cells in the patient’s skin may play an important role in the propagation of the inflammatory response in psoriasis. This work aimed at measuring serum IL- 2R in patients with active psoriasis, in correlation with the extent and intensity of psoriasis (PASI score) and the subsets of T-lymphocytic infiltrate in the dermis.
Methods: PASI score was recorded for 30 patients with active psoriatic lesions. Serum IL-2R was measured in the sera of these patients by ELISA technique. Pararffin embedded sections were stained with H&E and also by immunoperoxiase technique for pan T (CD3), T-helper (CD4), and T-suppressor (CD8) cells. Results were compared with age matched controls.
