Background: A variety of modalities have been employed and, depending on scar type, treatment may be invasive and/or conservative.
Objective: To assess the safety and efficacy of treating stable non-hypertrophic scars using fractional CO2 laser.
Subjects and methods: This is a prospective study oftwenty five subjects (skin typesIII-IV, aged 6-37 years) with stable non-hypertrophic scars underwent at least 3 sessions with the fractional CO2 laser at 1 month intervals. Side effects as well as improvements in texture, atrophy, and overall satisfaction with appearance were graded on a quartile scale by subjects and investigators after each treatment and 4 weeks after the final treatment.
