الملخص
Parasitic infection among slaughtered pigs in EL-Basateen abattoir in Cairo have been studied. 40634 slaughtered pigs during the period from June 1988 to June 1989 were examined for trichinosis as measured by direct muscle examination and cysticercosis as measured by naked eye examination for cysticercus cellulose were 2.33% and 0.08% respectively , with no significant change when compared with the mean prevalences of trichinosis and cysticercosis in the preceding five years ,recorded in the same abattoir .The prevalence of Toxoplasma infection was 14% through examination of sera of 100 slaughtered pigs by the indirect haem agglutination test (IHAT) .The prevalence of Balantidum coli infection was 81% through examination of 200 slaughtered pigs by simple smear method for stool examination
