الملخص
Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is
extensively used in machining of conductive materials when
producing precision products. Wire vibration has an important
role in resulted cutting speed and surface finish. In this work,
an investigation of the tungsten wire vibration during wire
electrical discharge machining process with second cut conditions was performed. The vibration amplitude and frequency
of wire were determined. Furthermore, the vibration mode of
wire movements was investigated with changing the offset
values. Also, the wire movement during WEDM can be recorded using a high-speed video camera. Cutting speed and
surface finish values were measured. Then, the possibility of
evaluating the wire vibration is also discussed and is related to
the offset, cutting speed, and surface finish parameters. Also,
the wire deflection, vibration power spectrum density, and
amplitude envelope were also investigated.
