الملخص
This study was a quasi experimental design aiming to evaluate the effect of nursing intervention on changing mothers' behavior to prevent the viral infectious disease among their children by using health belief models through: assessing the mothers' knowledge and practices, developing and implementing nursing intervention program according to mothers' needs. This study was conducted in Benha and El Menoufya governorates. The sample consisted of 81 and 90 mothers accompanied with their children. Data were collected through an interviewing questionnaire to assess socio -demographic data for mothers and their children, mothers' knowledge and practices also their behaviors if their children have infection with hepatitis (A), seasonal flu, H1N1Flu and chicken pox. The results revealed that the implementation of the nursing intervention program improved mothers' knowledge and behavior practices regarding to prevention of viral infectious diseases among their children in both groups. The study recommended the development of programs to disseminate correct and relevant information through mass media as TV and radio also the availability of booklets in the out-patient clinics and nurseries, to increase mothers' awareness to prevent and control viral infectious diseases among their children.
