Abstract
The clinical significance of the mastoid air cell system has been much discussed. It is suggested, that the mastoid plays a role in middle ear pressure regulation and that mastoid size is a factor in middle ear pressure regulation. The aim of the present study was to measure the volume and surface area of the mastoid air cell system in both control subjects and patients with retraction pockets using digital image processing method and to study the relation bet
