الملخص
In the present work, the RAPD-PCR was used to study the genomic DNA of normal and irradiated males and females of the potato tuber moth, Phthorimaea operculella Zeller. Gamma radiation induced some DNA polymorphism in all irradiated males and females (38.6 % and 26.7%, respectively). The similarity coefficients between non-irradiated and irradiated males and females were 0.85 and 0.89, respectively. The male substerilizing dose (200 Gy) and the female sterilizing dose (150 Gy) had similarity coefficients 0.866 and 0.916 with the non-irradiated males and females, respectively. These results indicated that, irradiation of 5-old days Ph. operculella pupae with gamma rays had slight effects on the genomic DNA.
