Results of Latarjet procedure for recurrent traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation in young adult athletes.

الملخص
Evaluation of the effectiveness of Latarjet procedure to restore a stable, functional shoulder in young adult athletes with recurrent traumatic anterior dislocation of the shoulder. Methods Between September 2012 and August 2014, a prospective study was conducted on 22 shoulders treated with Latarjet procedure for patients of unilateral recurrent traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation. Pre-and postoperative functional results were evaluated using modified Rowe scoring system. Results Satisfactory postoperative results (good or excellent) were achieved in 90.9 % of patients and unsatisfactory fair results in 9.1% of patients (with no poor results. Modified Rowe score improved from a mean of 33.42 points preoperatively to 87.12 points postoperatively. Conclusion Latarjet procedure in young adult Athletes is an effective, successful, safe and reliable procedure with respect to recurrence rate, range of motion, and shoulder function.
