الملخص
This study investigated the effect the use of some activities and media for improving oral communication skills at the secondary stage in learning English as a foreign Language. A pilot study was conducted to validate the problem of the study. It revealed a shortage in the students/ ability to communicate orally in daily situations. Consequently , a communicative device had to be designed to promote the oral communication skills among EFL secondary school students. To achieve this purpose, two questionnaires have been designed . Results helped in designing a communicative device . It included some media and activities, involving fifteen lessons of the students' textbook . Eighty EFL first year, secondary school students ( The experimental group) were practiced the communicative device for nearly a month. Students in the control group were taught the same lessons without any communicative device. The results of the pre-post test revealed much higher significance in favor of the experimental group. It was concluded that using some media and activities based on the students' needs and interests would result in promoting their oral communicative language skills.
