الملخص
The present study was designed to evaluate the Protective effects of Olive laeves in Chronic myocardial
necrosis induced experimentally in rats by subcutaneously injection with Isoproternol at adose of (5
mg/kg b.wt in 1 ml saline, s.c) weekly for 8 weeks . Blood samples were collected three times at the 3rd,
6th and one week after the 8th injection and 10 rats were sacrificed from each group at the time of blood
samples. The present data showed that the experimental induction of cardiac necrosis accompanied by
increases in the in mean values of serum Creatine kinase (CK)., Creatine kinase MB (CK-MB)., Lactate
dehydrogenase (LDH)., Aspartate amino transferase (AST), glucose, erythrocytes Glucose 6 phosphate
dehydrogenase. (G-6-PD), Potassium (K)., Phosphorus (P)., Total protein (T.P.), and albumin and
cardiac muscles L- malondialdehyde (L-MDA).and significant decreases in heart tissues Superoxide
Dismutase (SOD).and Catalase (CAT) and serum Calcium (Ca)., Sodium (Na).in the ISO group while
the treatement with olive leaves retain these changes nearly to normal values
