الملخص
Hirsutism is terminal hair growth occurring on face or body of women on pattern more typical of that seen on men. Patients may have excess androgen secretion, end organ hypersensitivity or iatrogenic.
Aim of the work: the clinical and laboratory evaluation of cases of hirsutism and to assess Ruby laser , cyproterone acetate l Diane and both in the treatnment of patients with hirsutism
Patients and methods: 36 patients with hirstutism of non tumoral origin divided into 3 groups; group I: 20 patients treated with a Q -switched Ruby laser.Ggroup II : 8 patients was treated with cyproterone acetate 100mg Per day. Group III: 8 patients was treated with antiandrogen and laser for one year.
Results: The frequency of hair removal per month in group III showed significant decrease in the mean value after 3, 6 and 12 months of therapy.
Conclusion: The normal mode ruby laser is well tolerated and leads to significant improvement of facial hirsutism. Repeated treatment sessions are required for greater clinical effects. Antiandrogen treatment when indicated, will lead to more clinical improvement when added to laser therapy,
