REFLECTIVE THINKING AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO THE BIG FIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS AMONG THE KINDERGARTEN FEMALE TEACHERS

الملخص
The present study aimed at investigating the correlation relationship between reflective thinking and the big five personality traits among the kindergarten female teachers. The study sample consisted of 100 female teachers in kindergarten. Three tools were used: The reflective thinking test (developed by the present study author in 2011), and the reflective thinking processes scale (developed by the present study author in 2011), the list of big five personality traits (developed by Costa and Maccrae, 1992 and translated into Arabic by Badr Al-Ansary). The present study findings revealed that:
• There was a negative correlation relationship between neuroticism and reflective thinking.
• There was a positive correlation relationship between conscientiousness and reflective thinking in general and the skills of process reflection in particular.
• There was a positive correlation relationship between openness to experience and reflective thinking in general and the skills of process reflection in particular.
• There was no correlation relationship between extraversion, agreeableness and reflective thinking.
