الملخص
teochondroma is the most common skeletal
benign tumor that arises from the metaphyseal or
diaphyseal regions most commonly in the distal
femur, proximal tibia, or the proximal humerus.1 Tumor size
increases during the period of skeletal growth until the
epiphyseal plates close. Malignant transformation to chondrosarcoma is rare and should be suspected if an adult
osteochondroma increases in size.2,3 The calcaneus is one of
the rare sites for osteochondroma.4,5
We report a case of calcaneal osteochondroma in a 10-yearold child who presented with varus deformity of the hind
foot causing an abnormal gait. Informed consent for
publication of this case report was signed by the parents of
the patient. Publication of this work was approved by the
Research Ethics Committee of King Hamad University
Hospital Research Department.
