ABSTRACT
Growth and nutritional status of one year old Coffea arabica seedlings in response to foliar sprays with GA3, two nitrogen sources i.e.turea and ammonium sulfate as well as zinc sulfate and manganese sulfate solutions either solely or in combinations were studied during the seasons of ( 1989, 1990)
Obtained data revealed that :
All treatments resulted in significant increases in stem and root lengths, number of leaves per seedling and dry weight of different plant organs i. e., leaves ; stem and roots. However, foliar sprays with 500 ppm ZnS04. either solely or combined with 500 ppm MnS04, 1% urea were statistically the superior in this concern•
Both combinations of zinc sulfate together with urea or MnS04 were more effective than spraying zinc sulfate solely concerning seedling top, but with root, spraying with zinc sulfate were more or less similar but exceeded (ZnS04 +> urea) treatment which ranked the last one•
Urea foliar sprays either alone or in combinations were more effective than ammonium sulfate treatment on the different vegetative growth measurements or nutrients content i.e., N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fef Mn and Zn. Such nutrients responded to urea solution and showed the highest levels as.
