الملخص
Field treatments 2003 & 2004 early summer season, the 9
assayed treatments bacterial biopesticides alone and mixed with
additives (molasses 10% and K2C03 1%) were evaluated against
Sesamia cretica (Led.) in maize fields. Dipel at lower concentration
[I] + molasses 10%, Dipel at higher concentration [II] and Dipel
[I] + K2C03, could be, fairly, considered the best treatments. Those
led to more than 80% reduction in egg-masses, mostly more than
7O% reduction in S. cret/ca larval counts, more than 75% reduction
in the dead heart-cases, increasing the resultant dry ears yield
(17.1, 16.0 and 14.8 ardab / feddan), reflects 95.9, 83.7 and
69.4% increase in corn yield than control, respectively. In addition,
these treatments manifested latent effect when caused severest
reduction in pupal weight ranged 30.9 to 43.56% than control.
Also, evaluation of these treatments proved as more safe of
predaceous insects when achieved higher numbers of predaceous
insects were recorded after using D [I] + molasses and D [Ij +
K2C03 in early summer maize season. Accordingly these treatments
have to be considered as main component of the integrated pest
management items of the pink stem borer S. cretica Led.
