الملخص
This study was c arried out on 27 adult male mongrel dogs. These dogs we re subjected to an artificial
induction o f diaphyseal fractures including the long bones o f the pectoral limb (humerus, radius & ulna
and metacarpal). The induced fractures were managed surgically via different fixation techniques (bone
plating, intramedullary bone pinning (IMP) and unilateral transkeletal fixation (TSF) as well as
application o f plaster o f Paris bandages). The obtained results we re evaluated clinically and
radiographically. The present study aimed to record the clinical signs and radiographic improvement
and post-operative complic ations o f such techniques and additional aim was to suggest the best method
for fixation o f diaphyseal fractures o f long bone o f pectoral limb
