Background: Bilirubin-induced neurologic dysfunction (BIND) is the term applied to the spectrum of neurologic abnormalities associated with hyperbilirubinemia. This study aimed to study the outcome of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia and its effect on the neurological system in full term and preterm babies. Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted on 112 patients with indirect hyperbilirubinemia (75 full terms and 37 preterms). All the studied patients were subjected to full history taking, complete clinical assessment, laboratory investigations and BIND score. Follow up was done at 3 months by detailed neurological assessment.
